The Arrogant Turtle
Translated by Raeyen Anggara Putra
Once upon a time, there was a proud and arrogant turtle who believed that it was more deserving of flying than swimming in the water. It thought that it should be able to fly because it was annoyed by its hard shell, which made its body feel heavy.
This turtle was frustrated when it saw its friends contently swimming. Its annoyance grew even stronger when it saw birds freely soaring through the sky.
One day, the turtle forced a goose to help it fly. The goose agreed and suggested that the turtle hold onto a stick that it would lift with its beak.
Since the turtle's arms were weak, it used its stronger mouth. Finally, the turtle was able to fly and felt proud.
Seeing its friends swimming below, it wanted to show off. However, it forgot that it had to keep its mouth occupied by gripping the stick. As a result, it fell down hard. Fortunately, the turtle survived thanks to the shell it had once despised.
